The Connor’s Center in Dover, MA
If you’re searching for a wedding venue that feels a world away from the city while still being close enough for an easy Saturday night getaway, let me introduce you to one of my absolute favorite places to photograph a wedding: The Connors Center in Dover, Massachusetts. I recently had the honor of photographing a wedding here, and I’m still smiling thinking about it. Here’s why this venue (and this couple) made for an unforgettable day behind the lens.

Just Minutes from Boston, Worlds Away in Feel
One of the things I love most about recommending the Connors Center to couples planning a Massachusetts wedding is how deceptively close it is to the city. Tucked into the quiet suburb of Dover, the venue sits less than 20 miles from downtown Boston, which means your out-of-town guests can fly into Logan, hop in a car, and be surrounded by rolling lawns and century-old gardens in well under an hour. You get all the charm of a New England countryside estate with none of the logistical headaches of a truly remote venue.
An Estate Built for Quiet, Timeless Photos
The moment you turn into the Connors Center’s long driveway, the noise of everyday life just falls away. This 80-acre estate is quiet in the best possible sense; no traffic, no crowds, just stone walls, mature trees, and manicured grounds that feel more like a European manor than a New England wedding venue. As a photographer, spaces like this are a gift. There’s no fighting for background space or working around distracting elements; every direction I turned offered a naturally beautiful, uncluttered frame.
The true showstopper, though, is the venue’s sunken garden, originally designed by the same landscape architects behind New York’s Central Park (hello, you’ve met one of Olmsted’s biggest fan girls!). Guests descend a stone staircase into a secluded, garden-walled ceremony space lined with greenery. Photographing a ceremony in a space this intentional and this beautiful is a rare treat. The natural stone, the layered greenery, and the soft, filtered light made for some of the most romantic ceremony images I’ve captured all year.

Photographing a Couple Who Were Having the Time of Their Lives
Venues make for gorgeous photos, but it’s always the couple that makes a wedding day unforgettable, and this one was an absolute joy from start to finish. You could feel the love between these two the second I arrived for getting-ready photos, and that energy only grew as the day went on. Sydney & Connor were truly meant for each other. I could tell by the way they looked at each other as Sydney came down the aisle, how they snuck in inside jokes during their portraits, and how they danced (and I mean really danced) all night long.
As a photographer, there’s nothing better than working with a couple who are so clearly, unmistakably in love and having fun. It shows up in every frame. Days like this are exactly why I love wedding photography: when the setting is stunning and the couple is radiating happiness, the photos practically take themselves.
